Diaper Cakes

Question: Do you make diaper cakes?

Ive started making diaper cakes and really enjoy it. Ive noticed that there are a lot of websites out there selling diaper cakes. I was wondering if you can actually make money off of them. Do you make diapers cakes or have a business making them? How did you start out and hows business going? Thanks :) Also, can you have a look at mine and give me your feedback. Your diaper cakes are wonderful!! I recently had two baby showers and at each one, someone made me a diaper cake. I love the idea and enjoyed getting diapers, but I do have a suggestion for those looking to create a business making them. Incorporate onesies into the diaper cakes, put little bottles of baby shampoo/ lotion/ powder in the cake, use organic diapers, and/ or use size 1 or size 2 diapers. I say this because both cakes were made from newborn diapers and now our baby has a ton of newborn size. (He's going to be a 8lb baby ...) Also, I know you probably know this, but a person who made 1 of the cakes for me, used hot glue to attach the ribbon to the diapers. Please please, do not use glue when attempting to attach the layers or anything to the cake. It was a pain to remove the glue and I didn't want to throw away the diapers. You can experiment with putting other items in the cakes that new mothers would enjoy getting, such as baby bottles, onesies, washclothes, etc. What if you sold them on ebay for cheap price ... buy the diapers while on sale (there's a good BabysRUs diaper sale coming up on Huggies).

I do diaper cakes for friends and family... it's usually my gift to them. Your cakes look beautiful... great job!!

Wow, you do a really great job!!! I know alot of them advertise on ebay but you may get a better response to advertise locally although I would not know where to advertise it. Maybe find a person who does shower gifts and set something up with them (the one by my house does wedding, baby, bachelorette etc stuff)

Wow those are really good ones! I've got a friend who makes this sort of stuff for hobby. I've also got one for my baby shower :) They seem to be getting lots of good words around. I think the main thing is to promote it properly especially if you're only selling through an online store.

When I read diaper cakes I thought of a cake tin with poop and wee. (Silly I know) However after looking at your pics I think your cakes are beautiful. Your very talented.

There beautiful. my mom made me over a $70 diaper cake for my baby shower.and then once everybody seen it online they were messaging me wanting her to make them one and they would pay her for it.But yes ppl make pretty good monkey on diaper cakes.
